in the heart stories

The idea for in the heart stories began last year. In the midst of preparing to celebrate Filipino American History Month and wanting to do more to celebrate community, I thought about how I could contribute to the vast array of good that is created by the Filipinx American community. The Filipino food scene was rising and Fil Am actors would come to mind when others mentioned famous or popular Fil Ams, but I thought about the rest. There are so many of us doing work and creating our own realities, from photographers to professors, illustrators to activists, singers to designers, we are all out here and I wanted to share everyone's stories. 

This site will share stories through interviews, articles, and personal essays. It's about celebration and representation and love. I hope that you enjoy the journey with me.
